Research and community service are the main activities done by academic staffs in Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering (FTSL ITB) in 9 different research groups. Research group in FTSL was founded in October 25th 2005 based on ITB’s Rector Decree No. 2567/SK/K01/KP/2005 which contains the establishment of FTSL’s Research Group and its members, one of it being Ocean Engineering Research Group (OERG).
The first leader of OERG was the late Prof. Dr. Hang Tuah Salim (1950 – 2012). Later on, the group was leaded by Prof. Ricky Lukman Tawekal, Dr. Irsan Brodjonegoro, Dr. Muslim Muin and in December 2013 was once again leaded by Prof. Ricky Lukman Tawekal.
Based on ITB’s Rector Decree in January 2015, Ocean Engineering Research Group was divided into two specific interests, which were Coastal Engineering and Offshore Engineering.
Until present, the head of OERG – Coastal Engineering Division is Dr. Muslim Muin
